First day
After some integration game "Schtrumpf" and "Champignion", which was played by everybody very actively, we started to work in our small groups on different topics: 1) the trip to Gdansk, 2) Polish resistance, 3) Sovjet army, 4) German military organizations and 5) events of september the first 1939.

Then we heard a presentation from Luca about the 1. World War and its connection to the 2. World War. We focused on nationalism in different countries as one cause of the war.

Finally the Russians arrived and our group was completed, so we had another integration game with Matt and Camille. This time the polish group could help us to explain the camp rules. Our next task was to speak in pairs of two about our families experiences during the war. Many of us could tell something about their grandparents situation in the war. It was interesting to hear stories from different nationalities, for example displaced persons from Poland and Russia.

Also we thought about a symbol for the 2. world war in our groups. The results were very different and more or less creative. For example an eye surrounded by barbed wire with a tear drop of blood.

The last part of the workshop was a groupwork on the speeches of the German chancellor Merkel, the Polish president Kaczynski and the Russian prime minister Putin at the Westerplatte on the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the 2. world war on september the first this year. We analyzed and discussed about the differences and commonalities. And we prepared some key questions for the seminar.

At the end we played some theatre to integrate each other better. It is called „Hotel Glocal“ and goes like this: One guest of the hotel comes to the reception with one problem but guest and reception don`t speak the same language...

Now we go to finish the evening at camp fire
